OUTREACH PROGRAMME REPORT

An outreach programme by 1BBALLB was successfully conducted on 28 August to the Claire Children’s Home.
The students of the class raise funds to procure groceries and essential items. These materials were delivered to the college a day prior to the programme and were subsequently transported to the home on the morning of the visit.
On the day of the programme, the students departed from the college premises and reached the orphanage in the morning. Upon arrival, they actively participated in unloading and arranging the essential supplies. The programme then transitioned into interactive sessions designed to engage the children meaningfully.

The visit commenced with musical performances by the students, followed by enthusiastic participation from the children, who showcased their talents in singing, dancing, and mimicry. This exchange created a lively and inclusive atmosphere, fostering a sense of connection and mutual appreciation. The programme continued with games and informal interactions, during which the students engaged with the children and gained insights into their lives, experiences, and challenges, particularly those related to living with HIV. These interactions proved to be deeply impactful, highlighting the resilience and positivity of the children.

Subsequently, lunch was served to the children, with the students joining them, thereby promoting a sense of equality, unity, and shared experience. The act of sharing a meal further strengthened the bond between the participants and the residents.

The programme concluded with the students returning to the college, reflecting on the meaningful experiences of the day. The outreach initiative was highly successful, achieving and surpassing its intended objectives. More importantly, it fostered a deeper sense of empathy, compassion, and social responsibility among the students. The experience has encouraged continued participation in community service and reinforced the commitment to contributing positively to society.
