The strength of an alumni association lies in the willingness of its members to give back. The St. Joseph’s College of Law Alumni Association invites every graduate to contribute their knowledge, expertise, professional networks and resources towards the academic and overall development of the College and its students. Whether you have an hour to spare or wish to make a lasting contribution, there is a way for you to support SJCL.
WAYS TO SUPPORT
Mentorship
Guide current students as they choose internships, prepare for interviews and plan their careers. Alumni mentors offer students a practical, first-hand view of the profession that no classroom can provide.
Guest Lectures and Academic Engagement
Share your experience of practice, your area of specialisation or recent developments in the law through guest lectures, panel discussions and workshops. Alumni are also invited to take part in moot courts and academic events as judges, resource persons and coaches.
Internship and Placement Support
Help students find internship and placement opportunities at your chambers, firm or organisation, refer openings to the Placement & Internship Committee, or take part in mock interviews and career panels.
Volunteering and Social Outreach
Join the Association’s legal aid services, legal awareness programmes and social outreach initiatives, in keeping with the Jesuit ideal of being men and women for and with others.
Donations and Fundraising
Contribute towards initiatives that benefit students and the community, such as legal aid and outreach programmes, competitions, seminars and workshops, and the activities of the Association.
Staying Connected
Keep your details up to date, attend the annual alumni meet and alumni events, and share your achievements so that they can be featured in the alumni success stories and inspire current students.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
To offer your support, please register as a member through the Membership Form and indicate the areas in which you would like to participate: alumni events, mentorship programmes, guest lectures, volunteering activities or donations and fundraising. The Association will get in touch with you about opportunities that match your interests.
