The College Crest

The emblem of the College dates to 1882 when the French Foreign Missionary Fathers started this Institution of higher learning. It is made of two scrolls, one scroll placed above the crown, bears the motto of the Institution inscribed in Latin - 'Fide et Labore' and the other scroll placed beneath the palm leaves bears the name of the Institution. The shield bears a Cross in the center which symbolises Christian Faith and the two bees on either side of the lower part of the Cross representing hard work. The crown, which is placed above the shield, is a heraldic symbol of supremacy and glory. The compartment beneath the shield consisting of palm leaves represents a sign of victory.
