The Criminal Law Committee organized observational trip to Halasuru Police Station, Bengaluru on 17th August 2022, for the students of the 2nd year LLB degree. Around 53 students participated. The purpose of the trip was to understand the physical structure of police station, nature of duties performed by police officers in a police station and the practicalities/application of the various provisions of criminal laws.

The underlying motive of the visit was to build faith in the Police System of the state and to develop friendly relation with the police officers. The SHO (Station House Officer) – Mr. Madhu and Mr Amaresh, the PSI of the station took time out of their busy schedule and explained the role of police in contemporary society with changing trends of crime and technology. They also used various illustrative examples and actual case references to throw light on the functioning and application of criminal laws.
