Objectives of the Programme
The Faculty Development Programme was organised with the following objectives:
● To introduce faculty members to PACT (Participatory, Active, Constitutional Teaching) methods in constitutional history education.
● To enhance innovative and experiential pedagogical approaches in teaching constitutional law and history.
● To familiarise faculty with visual archives, constitutional debates, and participatory classroom tools.
● To bridge research, history, and pedagogy through collaboration with CLPR.

About the Resource Organisation
The session was conducted in collaboration with the Centre for Law and Policy Research (CLPR), Bengaluru, a leading research institution known for its work in constitutional law, public policy, and legal education, including archival and pedagogical initiatives on the Indian Constitution.

Nature of the Workshop
The workshop was highly interactive and focused on:
● Use of constitutional archives, debates of the Constituent Assembly, and visual pedagogy.
● Methods to teach constitutional history beyond lecture-based formats.
● Demonstration of participatory tools for classroom engagement.
● Integrating history, law, and civic learning through structured classroom activities.
● Faculty engagement in designing classroom simulations using constitutional materials.

Conclusion
The FDP on PACT Constitutional History Education significantly contributed to enhancing the pedagogical competencies of the faculty at St. Joseph’s College of Law. The collaboration with CLPR provided valuable academic inputs and practical tools that faculty members can directly integrate into their classrooms, promoting constitutional literacy through innovative teaching practices.
