AICUF had initiated a one-day program for the migrant students who are studying under the Brothers Integrated Rural Development Society (BIRDS). This was conducted on 16 th November 2025 as Children’s Day Celebrations. Adding to this, a free medical check-up for the children initiated by St. Philomena’s Hospital was also conducted.

By morning 7.00 am, all 32 AICUF volunteers had assembled at the college premises with the game equipment, requirements, and gift packages to start the journey to the event place. The event was scheduled at St. Mary’s High School, Hennur. Around 7.30 am, we reached the destination and started to arrange the venue for the event - reserve areas for gaming and food counter, arrangements for medical camp facilities, and arrangements of properties. At the same time, the students from various places arrived and the registration process commenced along with the distribution of breakfast.

At 9.00 am, the registrations of all 300+ students had been completed and the inaugural session began. The inaugural session started with a prayer song by the students. Along with the Director, Fr. Jerald D'Souza, SJ and finance administrator, Fr. Harry Terry, SJ of St. Joseph’s College of Law, all the dignitaries including the heads of BIRDS, those in charge of the medical camp, and those in charge of the students, addressed the gathering followed by lighting of lamps and detailing of the event by AICUF in-charge, Mr. Thomas Alexander.

After the inaugural session, by 10.00 am, the event started with the different games at 10 counters open for students and at the same time, the medical camp began in the allotted classrooms. All the students and the teachers in charge actively participated and cooperated with the events under the guidance of the volunteers.

By 1.30 pm, all activities of gaming and medical check-up ended and lunch was served for everyone. Thereafter, the students started preparing for the final stage performance. The AICUF volunteers encouraged the students by teaching the action songs and small games.

The stage was opened for performance by both the students and the AICUF members at 2:00 pm. The AICUF members performed a street play and delivered an energetic dance, followed by the students also performing a dance, a fashion show, a group song, etc.

Around 3.30 pm, the program concluded with a valedictory ceremony where the gifts, specifically arranged for every student, were given by various dignitaries of the event and also with participation certificates to the AICUF volunteers. The event concluded with distribution of refreshments to all students, volunteers, and organisers.
