Karnataka State Law University conducted an inter-collegiate Football tournament on 22nd and 23rd February 2024 hosted by J.S.S. Law College, Mysuru. A total of 20 colleges/teams participated in the said inter-collegiate Football tournament.

The Football team of St. Joseph’s College of Law played their first league match against Vaikunta Baliga College of Law, Udupi and won the match with a margin of 5-0. Mr. K. Muhammed Hanzala of II B.A. LL.B (B) scored a hat-trick! Besides, Mr. K.D. Vijay Uthaiah from IV BCOM LL.B and Mr. Namith Gowda from II B.A. LL.B (B) scored one goal each. In our second match against Kristu Jayanti College of Law, Bengaluru, which was a qualifier-cum-knockout match to Quarter Finals, the SJCL Football team’s stellar performance was lauded by the hosting college’s Physical Education Director as the said match was decided on a penalty shootout, in which we lost with a narrow margin of 3-2.

Not to forget to mention the fact that this Football tournament was a debut tournament to St. Joseph’s College of Law as the college constituted the Football team for the first time, ever since its inception year i.e., 2017-18.

The Sports Committee of St. Joseph’s College of Law on 15th February 2024, conducted Football selections at St. Joseph’s University Grounds, Langford Road, Bengaluru. A total number of 36 students showed-up for Football selections. Initially, a team comprising of twenty members were carved, which were finally reduced to 15 members based on their performance in practice matches against St. Joseph’s University and St. Joseph’s College of Commerce on 19th and 20th February, 2024.
