The Women’s Day celebration and a one-day health camp for Pourakarmika Women took place on 5 th March, 2025, in collaboration with St. Philomena Hospital and Rotary Bangalore Brigades, RI District 3192.

The event aimed to provide comprehensive healthcare services to Pourakarmika women from BBMP wards to aid community welfare and women’s empowerment.

The program commenced with a traditional lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, a welcome address given by the principal and then Director of St. Joseph’s College of Law. Then, Mr. Clifton D’ Rozario, practicing Advocate at Manthan Law Firm urged Pourakarmika workers to be aware of their rights in the law and make claims for the same under the forums provided by law.

A structured health check-up was conducted under the supervision of renowned medical professionals followed by a street-play explaining the rights available to the Pourakarmika workers. The official program included few cultural programs and spot-games.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Shoba Hegde and the Pourakarmika

Women were awarded with mementoes and gifts as a token of appreciation for their contribution in keeping the society clean.
