Seminar on Kanakadasa, the Bhakti movement and caste reformation

On November 11, 2024 a seminar focused on Kanakadasa, the Bhakti Movement, and Caste Reformation was organized. The event was conducted in Kannada to honor Kanakadasa and his contributions and to eng3age students in a critical reflection on Kanakadasa's teachings, especially his stance against caste discrimination.

The session was led by Dr. Ravi Kumar P.G., Head of the Kannada Department at Loyola Degree College, who expertly guided the discussion. He informed the students on the life of Kanakadasa and engaged them in an open discussion about the implications of casteism today. Critical questions were posed to the audience, encouraging them to draw parallels between historical caste practices and their persistence in modern society.

The session concluded with the speaker sharing various writings by Kanakadasa.
