SEMINAR ON NAVIGATING THE INTERSECTION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

The Department of Postgraduate Studies in Law (LL.M) along with the Research committee organized a highly informative one-day seminar titled “Navigating the Intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property Rights” on 13th December 2024.

The official inauguration took place with the presence of Director Rev. Fr. Jerald D’Souza SJ, Principal Dr. Pauline Priya, and the Faculty Coordinators and Student Coordinators of the research committee.

The Director and Principal opened the seminar with an address.

The first session delivered by Dr. Raghavender GR, Senior Consultant at the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Government of India, who joined entirely online was on the evolution of AI, its applications in government systems, and its potential to simplify processes for citizens.

The second session, led by Mr. Gaurav Sahay, Practice Head of Technology and General Corporate at Fox Mandal & Associates, Bengaluru, focused on the emerging challenges surrounding AI creator liability and its effects on IPR.

The third session was conducted by Mr. S. Chakravarthy Naik, Assistant Professor and Associate Director of the IPR Cell at Alliance University, Bengaluru, providing an in-depth exploration of the various types of IPR and how AI plays a significant role in both fostering and disrupting the field.

Each session concluded with a Q&A, followed by the felicitation of the speaker.

The seminar ended with a formal valedictory ceremony, featuring the release of a publication titled "National Conference on Environmental Law: Issues and Emerging Challenges".

Overall, the seminar was a resounding success.
