Debate Society Orientation

On the 7th of October 2024, the Debate orientation session was held for the newly admitted first-year students, hosted by Professor Edwin Joney, Faculty Coordinator of the Debate Society.

Prof. Joney’s address highlighted the significance of debating, explaining how one can turn opinions into compelling arguments, an essential skill in effective debate. During the event, the Society's student coordinators were also introduced.

The orientation covered the following key areas such as introduction of the goals and aims of the debate society for the current academic year, the events planned for the semester, a clarification on the debate camp, and the opportunities that the students would have through debate society that they can look forward to in the semester.

The orientation successfully sparked enthusiasm among the first-year students, offering them a chance to participate in events that will allow them to enhance their debating and communication skills.
