Workshop on “Writing a Research Paper” organised by Research Cell

The Workshop on “Writing a Research Paper” was held on December 8, 2023, at the AV Hall in the Administration Block. It aimed to provide students with valuable insights into the nuances of academic research and paper writing. The event commenced with a warm welcome by Nithila Vaikom, a student representative, setting an inviting tone for the workshop.

Dr. Gagan K, the Research Cell faculty coordinator, provided an overview of the workshop's objectives and the importance of research in academic and professional development.

Ms. Swathi K, another faculty coordinator from the Research Cell, introduced the esteemed resource person, creating anticipation among the participants. Her introduction-built anticipation among the participants as she introduced the esteemed resource person, Dr. Avishek Chakraborty, an Assistant Professor at the School of Law, Christ Deemed to be University, was warmly welcomed to share his expertise on the intricacies of research paper writing. His credentials and reputation as a seasoned professional in intellectual property law created an atmosphere of anticipation and eagerness among the attendees, setting the tone for an insightful and impactful session.

The heart of the workshop featured an engaging presentation by the resource person, focusing on the distinctions between an essay and a research paper. Practical insights and examples were shared to illustrate the finer points of effective academic writing. The resource person systematically outlined the nine major steps involved in writing a research paper. This comprehensive guide provided attendees with a structured approach to navigate the complexities of the research process. One of the notable aspects of the Research Orientation Workshop was the interactive and engaging Question and Answer (Q & A) session that followed the resource person's presentation. The attendees actively participated, seizing the opportunity to seek clarification, delve deeper into specific topics, and gain additional insights into the world of research and paper writing.
