CONSTITUTION WEEK CELEBRATIONS

Constitution Day, also known as "National Law Day", is celebrated in India on 26TH November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. The Constitution Club of SJCL dedicated a week to celebrating the Indian Constitution. The following events were conducted during the Constitution week 2023

1. Constitution Palette: A poster making competition
The competition was conducted on 21st November, 2023 which focused on students showcasing their artistic talents. The theme of the competition was slogans that shaped the Constitution. Students from all across the five year and three-year law courses participated and showcased their talent followed by a brief presentation of the masterpieces they have created. The aim of the competition was to awaken the spirit of the constitution and embed the constitutional values in the students. The following students were adjudged as winners of the competition:

II nd Prize:Lavanika.u
III rd Prize: Meera M

2. Vox CAD: Re-enacting the constituent assembly
An elocution competition aimed at re-enacting the Constitutional assembly debates was conducted on 22nd November, 2023. Students from all across the five year and three-year law courses participated and showcased their oratory skills by enacting popular speeches from the Constitutional assembly debates. The winners of the competition are:
I st Prize : Kavyayashwini MS
II nd Prize:Alexander S
III rd Prize:Bhavya G Kumar

3. Constitutional Awareness Outreach Program, 2023
The Constitution Club successfully organized a dynamic and engaging Constitutional Awareness Outreach Program for the students of Loyola High school and Divine Mercy school on 23rd November, 2023. The students engaged in an interactive session with the classes 8,9&10th of the above schools. The event aimed to foster a deeper understanding of constitutional democracy and fundamental rights among young minds. Through interactive discussions and thoughtful debates, the students explored the importance of fundamental rights. The session extended the spirit of constitutional understanding to Loyola High School and Divine Mercy School students, fostering insightful discussions on democracy and fundamental rights.

4. Dance performance and Prize distribution
A dance performance was organized by the Constitution club in collaboration with the cultural committee touching upon the freedom struggles on the 24th of November,2023 followed by the prize distribution for the various events conducted during the constitution week. The winners were awarded with Merit certificates and cash prizes.
