SOLVERDE – Sustainable Poster Making Competition

The Commerce and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (ComEd Cell) of St. Joseph’s College of Law organized “SOLVERDE” – a Sustainable Poster Making Competition on 11th May 2026. The event aimed to encourage students to creatively engage with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while promoting awareness regarding sustainability, environmental responsibility, and conscious business practices.

The event was judged by Ms. Asha Joseph, an experienced Banking and Customer Relations professional with over 18 years of industry experience and a faculty member at St. Joseph’s College of Commerce (Autonomous), Bengaluru. Her extensive professional background in banking, customer relations, quality management, and education added immense value to the competition. With her expertise and experience, she carefully evaluated the participants based on creativity, relevance to the theme, innovation, presentation, and overall impact.

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across different classes, with a total of 16 teams taking part in the event. Each team consisted of 2 to 4 members, and participants were required to create their posters on the spot using eco-friendly and sustainable materials. The posters reflected themes such as climate action, quality education, gender equality, responsible consumption, clean energy, sustainable cities, and environmental conservation. The originality and creativity displayed by the participants highlighted their awareness and understanding of sustainability-related challenges and solutions.

Participants were given 90 minutes to complete their posters, following which the judge evaluated the entries. Of the 16 participating teams, only 8 qualified for the final presentation round in the AV Room. During this round, participants explained the concepts and messages behind their posters before the judge and answered questions regarding their work. The presentations were innovative, insightful, and thought-provoking, showcasing the students’ ability to connect sustainability with practical and creative ideas.

The posters created during the event were displayed at the quadrangle, where they received appreciation from students and faculty members alike. The event created an engaging and meaningful atmosphere that encouraged dialogue on sustainability and the importance of collective responsibility toward building a greener future.

The competition concluded successfully with the announcement of the best-performing teams, who were awarded cash prizes in recognition of their creativity, presentation skills, and innovative ideas. “SOLVERDE” proved to be a meaningful competition by ComEd Cell, successfully encouraging students to think critically and creatively about sustainable development while inspiring them to contribute toward a more sustainable and equitable society.
