Policy Review Exercise on National Education Policy 2020

A comprehensive policy review exercise on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 was conducted by the Public Policy Club to evaluate its policy implementation and effectiveness on 11th June 2024. The review aimed to analyze the policy's impact on various stakeholders, including students, educators, and institutions.

The Guest speaker Ms. Sneha Yanappa briefed the students about the various aspects of public policy and highlighted several key areas of the NEP. One major focus was the policy's emphasis on holistic and multidisciplinary education, language policy and a new regulatory educational system that aims to break down silos between different fields of study and encourage a more well-rounded educational experience.

Ms. Sneha also highlighted the significant challenges in implementing NEP, particularly in curriculum redesign and teacher training. The attendees shared their opinions with the speaker regarding the advantages and disadvantages of the Policy. They engaged in an active discussion and clarified their doubts/questions with the speaker.

At the end of the event, the principal presented the guest speaker with a token of appreciation, followed by a valedictory address delivered by the student coordinator.

In conclusion, the policy review exercise provided a detailed critique of the NEP, offering valuable insights into its strengths and areas for student improvement. The event proved to be a success because of the collective efforts of the public policy committee.
