The Placement Cell in collaboration with The University of Reading conducted LLM Opportunities at the University of Reading on 30th July,2024 at St. Joseph’s College of Law. The session was designed to provide valuable insights and guidance to our final years and pre final years students, regarding LLM Opportunities. The session was from 9AM to 10AM, conducted in Computer room, Admin block at St. Joseph’s College of Law.

The session commenced with a short Welcome address and Introduction by Mr. Aftaab, a member of The Placement Cell of SJCL. The resource person for the session was Dr. Rachel Horton Associate Professor at The School of Law, University of Reading. The session consisted of:

1. Employment Law: The session begins with a small introduction into the field of employment law, specifically sex-based discrimination at workplace, which is the specialty of Dr. Rachel Horton. She gave a brief insight into her field of study by introducing us to the Employment Law of UK and its provisions and its history.

2. University of Reading: In the latter part of the session Mr. Ashish Jaishwal, delegate of the University of Reading, gave an introduction into the University. This consisted of a brief of the facilities available at the university, the campus, the location of the university, dorm facility, scholarships opportunities etc. This was followed by a question answer session where the students actively participated in mitigating their doubts regarding application, selection criteria and placement. The session was concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Chakki M S, a member of Placement cell Sjcl.
