Souhardha 2025

On account of the Workers Day, a day-long programme ‘Souhardha 2025’ was organized for the migrant workers’ families from north Karnataka on 4th May 2025. The programme was organised in collaboration with the BIRDS NGO and St. Philomena’s Hospital, Bengaluru, at St. Mary’s High School campus in Geddhalahalli, Bengaluru.

The preparation for the programme began a month early by the BIRDS staff visiting the migrant workers’ settlement sites at Bellhalli Bande and Narayanpura.

The day began with the registration of the families. The participating families were given free health check-ups and consultations, and free medication for certain ailments.

Following the health check-up, the participants were given aid in registration of the E-shram card on the spot at the registration counter for the non-holders of the card. Meanwhile, games and activities were conducted for the children, and refreshments were served to all the participants.

The AICUF team also put up a cultural performance for all the people, where they delivered a message on asserting their rights as workers.
