The Legal Aid Committee in collaboration with Law and Gender Committee conducted an awareness camp at Jyothi High School, Kacharakanahalli, Bengaluru on 1st March 2024.

Around 150 students from Jyothi High School took part in this awareness camp. Mr. Jashwanth from II BBA LL.B and Ms. Dhanalakshmi from IV BA LL.B ‘A’ section gave an extensive lecture on provisions of the POCSO Act. Sessions were conducted to spread basic legal knowledge among the students and to provide them information regarding the role of the Police, Child Welfare Committee and inter alia in such cases. In addition to the lecture session, a quiz session was also conducted on Good-touch and Bad-touch.

In addition, an impactful street-play was organized for the students to address issues regarding Good-touch and Bad-touch. The use of street-play as a medium not only made learning enjoyable but also left an impact on those young minds. The creative use of drama, exhibiting posters and enactments made complex legal provisions of POCSO Act accessible and comprehensible to the children.
