Karnataka AICUF State Convention

The Karnataka state AICUF organized the State AICUF convention on 16th November 2024, in Bengaluru at St. Joseph’s college of law. It was an event where the centenary year of AICUF was inaugurated with meaning and grandeur, with the theme of “Marching Together in Reconciliation and Peace”.

The convention commenced with the registration of the participants and the formal inauguration of the event took over. After a short ice-breaker session, the participants were divided into several groups.

The inauguration commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries: Dr. Fr. Maxim Dias SJ, Advisor (Karnataka state AICUF), Dr. Fr. Jesu Benjamine SJ, the National Advisor AICUF, Chief Guest Mr. Cyril Prabhu, Dr. Fr. Daniel Fernandes SJ, Rector of BJES, Mr. Thomas Alexandar, the state AICUF Animator, and Ms. Bhavya Narasimhamurthy, the keynote speaker.

The inauguration was followed by the Keynote address by Ms. Bhavya Narasimhamurthy, who stressed the role of youth and especially women in the process of nation-building.

Then, Dr. Fr. Jesu Benjamine engaged the students on the significance of building leadership, Dr Fr. Denzil Fernandes SJ on the theme of ‘Reconciliation’, and Electoral awareness by Eddelu Karnatka and gender sensitization respectively

This was followed by street play by the SJCL students and the panel discussion comprising of senior AICURERS, namely Prof. Paul Newman, Mr. John Shantraj, Mr.Elangovan, and Mr. Prashanth.

The event ended with a summary of the day’s activities by Mr. Thomas Alexandar and Vote of thanks by Mr. Salman and the concluding remarks by Fr. Maxim Dias SJ.
